About Mountune USA
Mountune USA was founded in 1980 by David Mountain in Malton, Essex, England. Initially focused on the development of British Leyland A series engines for motorsports, Mountune USA quickly expanded with the reputation gained from numerous race victories. Its team of engineers works closely with Ford's own racing group, which is headquartered in the notorious Boreham plant in the UK to provide Ford YB engines for various engineering teams and more than 100 private cars. In 1990, Mountune, powered by Rob Gravit's Ford Sierra RS500 Motor Company, won the British Touring Car Championship and provided customers all over the world with the engine to win the race. In the early 90s, the Group A rally was at its peak. The Cosworth team was powered by a 2-liter Ford YB engine manufactured by Mountune.
