About Maine Diner
Maine Diner is an award-winning family restaurant that opened in 1983 But the story of restaurants in Maine actually began before 1983-in fact, as early as 30 years ago. The story and the restaurant itself begin with Socrates "Louis" Totten. Louis opened a restaurant in Boston and used Maine restaurants as his retired restaurant. He is also an avid gardener, with a large area of fertile land behind the house. So, he closed the restaurant in the summer so he could spend all his time in the garden. To this day Maine Diner still maintain the garden. This half-acre is rich in broccoli, green peppers, zucchini, asparagus, carrots, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans and soya beans, tomatoes, eggplant, beets and winter squash.
