He grew up on the coast of southern California and lived a life of surfing, fishing and, of course, scuba diving. He decided at an early age that his life would be surrounded by water. David came to oahu during his winter vacation from a lifeguard on a Los Angeles beach and fell in love with the people and ocean culture. What was supposed to be a long vacation became a permanent move. In 2010, he met Melanie and they started a life of ocean diving together. Some said they felt trapped on an island surrounded by water, and he felt free.
