In 1886, Charles Jensen did not intend to become a furniture retailer. In fact, he is an excellent sailor manufacturer. His expertise: canvas sails for pleasure and business craftsmanship. In 1921, Edward Lewis founded a custom canvas awning company for residential and commercial use. It wasn't until 1932 that the two canvas craftsmen joined forces to become Jensen-Lewis, the leading canvas awning manufacturer in New York City. So, when Jensen-Lewis began selling canvas furniture in 1964, it was a natural product of the efforts of Charles Jensen and Edward Lewis. Jensen-Lewis furniture store opened in 1964 and sells canvas sofas and chairs; but it quickly expanded its collection. Today, its store is very modern and full of modern furniture with smart design - its product line is international.
