About Imss
Imss mission is to make people's lives better by helping them learn more about the history, development, and advancements of surgery and related health and medicine topics. Imss is committed to portraying the art and science of surgery and related subjects through exhibits and other appropriate media in support of this; supplying programs and services for public, student, and medical professional education and enjoyment; preserving their collection for the benefit of future generations' education, inspiration, and aesthetic enrichment; and establishing itself as a global leader in medical and health museums. A division of the International College of Surgeons (ICS), the International Museum of Surgical Science houses an exquisite permanent collection of art and medical artifacts as well as over 10, 000 square feet of public galleries dedicated to the history of surgery. In addition to a robust program of contemporary art exhibitions, the Museum supports its Mission through exhibitions and programs with a medical focus.
