In 1989, Dave Houser established Houser Mouthpiece. He was a weekend warrior trumpet player and worked in manufacturing and electrical engineering. However, working for yourself leaves little time for him to keep making war with his trumpet. Houser Mouthpiece makes the best duplications and standard mouthpiece products by utilizing CNC machinery and its own proprietary scanning technology. They started making stainless steel custom mouthpieces in 2003, and in 2006, they agreed to sell many of their designs through Loud Mouthpieces and Sidey Mouthpieces for the first time. They ended their partnership with Loud Mouthpieces at the beginning of 2011 and now sell the line directly under the Mouthpiece Ordnance brand, offering several brand-new options. For products made of stainless steel, they introduced H-Kote in 2008. H-Kote is an exclusive method for coating the surface of stainless steel screw rims with either gold or black titanium nitride. It feels better and lasts longer than gold-plated brass, and it doesn't cause allergies.
