Located on the waterfront in Geneva, Herrington Inn, they played an important role in the development of this charming Midwestern city. This location is not always the location of favorite hotels and spas in the Chicago area. In fact, as the first dairy farm in the town, it has a deep historical origin. Around 1835, James and Carey Herrington left Philadelphia to find a new beginning. While traveling west from Chicago, the couple met the banks of the current Fox River and settled in the former campsite of the Potawatumi Indian tribe. This area is rich in high-quality wood and fresh water springs. The Herringtons bought their first cabin and raised 10 children, becoming the first settlers in Geneva. A few years later, in 1874, a small dairy factory was built on Herrington Inn's homestead.
