Halls of Heddon is a traditional family nursery established by William Nicholson Hall in 1921. Since the early years, they have grown many of their own plants and specialized in growing dahlias and chrysanthemums. They made the first catalog of these wonderful and increasingly popular flowers in 1931. Since then, they have continued to grow, planting nearly 150,000 dahlias and chrysanthemums each year and sending them to customers across the country and other countries in the European Union. Halls of Heddon's dahlia tubers send them to customers all over the world, making them even more distant. Their nursery center is located at Heden Wall (near Hadrian's Wall) and Overton, next to dahlias and chrysanthemums. They plant about 100,000 plants each year, including shrubs, herbs, alpine plants and various seasonal litter plants.
