The trouble with the glove or cellphone conundrum came over dinner with his father, Stanley Rubin, who made and sold gloves easily. A few minutes later, sketches were drawn, scissors came out, and FreeHand’s gloves were born. Throughout his career as a professional interface designer, Freehands has worked to blend usability, usability, and aestheticism. Stanley grew up in Gloversville, nay, the son of a glove manufacturer. Like his brother and nephew, Stanley followed suit, and arguably knew something about gloves.
