About Florida State Fair
From a small beginning in 1904 to today's explosive events, Florida State Fair believes that nothing brings a community together better than good times. This is the core of their efforts as their first expo, the Tampa Bay Hotel in the Henry B Factory in downtown Tampa. In 1915, they merged with the Gasparilla Carnival in Tampa to become the biggest, best and deepest event of the year-now known as Florida State Fair. Community members come together from every corner of the state to eat, play, and celebrate everything in Florida. As they become more popular, a governing body is needed. In 1975, the Florida Legislature established the Florida Fair Bureau. Now an official organization, they packed up and moved to their new home-you know, the Florida market you love today, just off Interstate 4.
