About Expo Square
The Tulsa county free exposition began in 1903 at western association baseball park in archer and Boston. With the Oklahoma free trade act of 1915, 15 acres north of archer and Lewis were purchased to provide more suitable land. In 1923, thanks to a land donation from JE Crosbie, the fair was moved to what is now part of the expo plaza, between 15th and 21st streets. In 1931, a major bond issue of $500,000 to build the pavilion was approved. The justice commission acquired land adjacent to the grant in later years, and "state justice" was born. Expo Square’s mission is to create a significant economic impact for the citizens of Tulsa county by providing the public with a choice of multipurpose facilities and services for year-round use, enhancing Expo Square’s educational and recreational experiences through equestrian and agricultural events and special attractions.
