About Drive Smart
In Cherokee County, Alabama, Drive Smart is situated inside Congo Nature Preserve and borders Little River Canyon National Preserve. Between May 1 and October 1, a single use permit is required to enter Congo Falls Park for swimming, hiking, sightseeing, picnicking, or parking. Between September 13 and April 30, only season permits are offered. There are also free boater/kayaker permits available, however these are only valid from September 13 to April 30 and are subject to approval. The public can now access the trails. On May 1st, 2021, Drive Smart was formally opened to the public, but entrance is restricted and requires a permission. They are putting a lot of effort into protecting their grounds while also creating a fun preserve setting that the whole family can enjoy.
