About Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh
Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh is a Hilton-owned antique collection that was inspired by the building's past life. Built-in 1924 as the Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania, the Gothic Revival-style building was named for Evangeline Booth, the first female general. In 1951, the Evangeline Residence was recognized as a non-profit corporation, organized and existing as a benevolent and charitable institution, and Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh includes 229 sleeping rooms, a dining room operated exclusively for the building's residents and Salvation Army officers, the lounge, and other rooms. The hotel is decorated in a mid-century modern style in shades of soft gray, silver, and cobalt blue with accents of yellow and gold representing the Golden Triangle. The warm and comfortable environment of the rooms amplifies the modern urban experience.
