Disaster Area Designs began in 2010 when engineer Matthew Faro designed and built a MIDI controller to operate his Line 6 M9 pedal. A few months later, Matthew sent his own hands-on board kits around the world, allowing adventurous players to make their own controllers. When Strymon released the flagship timeline delay pedal, Disaster Area Designs accepted the challenge and designed a compact MIDI controller to extend its functionality. The DMC-3 was born. They have expanded the range of controllers and offer many customization options, including firmware for various pedal and rack units.
