They built three fully operational hexapod robots with a diameter of 1 meter and collaborated with the film's art team to create 3D-printed armor and aesthetics over the robots' frames. After that, they went to northern Africa for principal filming for a month, where they was tasked with puppeteering the robots in each scene they were in (which was a fair amount). This was a really fun project. This was definitely a return to form for them as a film nerd and a child who was influenced by sci-fi robots.
