Cwandt was founded by Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy as a two-person design firm. The duo, who have degrees in architecture, film, and computer science, met at NYU ITP, where they started their scale and medium-agnostic design approach. Design and technology as a creative medium are the subjects of many of Wang and Levy's lectures. At Pratt Institute, New York University, and the School for Poetic Computation, they teach courses on time, electronics, hardware, programming, inflatables, and morphology. Their pedagogy extends to the home and studio, where they host office hours for anyone interested in learning how to make things on their own.
