About Connolly Marine
It's important to know where they came from and how they got their start if you want to fully comprehend their love of boats and the boating industry. Connolly Marine was founded in 1976 by Bob and Dave Connolly in a small industrial building in Costa Mesa, California. At the time, Bob and Dave worked on inboard powerboat repairs before becoming Cole Boats dealers. They moved into the boat manufacturing industry as a result of their passion for high-performance boats, where they established their own line. The Connolly Marine ski Bum is the first. They moved into a larger facility in Santa Ana, California, after quickly outgrowing the small industrial building. They produced an 18-foot Flatbottom, a 21-foot Daycruiser, and a 25-foot Daycruiser at the new facility. Dave piloted the Strictly Business GN107 in one of their Connolly 21' Ski Bum hulls, and their love of speed boats led them into GN racing. The GN Kilo World Record was broken the first day the boat entered the water.
