Cave of the Mounds, located in southwest Wisconsin, is a spectacular natural wonder of Midwest America. It was discovered in 1939 by quarry workers, who were removing high-quality limestone from a historic farm. The workers blasted dynamite into the quarry and uncovered a fantastic cavern full of minerals and incredibly rare stones. They opened the jaw-dropping caves to the public in May of 1940. It has now brought in millions of visitors and groups, and local schools make a habit of visiting frequently to educate children about preserved natural landmarks. The business managing and maintaining the caves offer guided tours, group programs, and specially hosted events such as birthdays, scout programs, private event rentals, and even educational day tours.
