About Buffalo Museum
Buffalo Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Their mission is to advocate for the recovery of bison through education and outreach. They support their mission with operating funds from museum memberships, tickets, programs, store revenue, grants, and ND Charity Game proceeds. Buffalo Museum preserves two bison herds on either side of Interstate 94. Both are visible most of the time from the interstate. As live exhibits, their herds mimic, to the extent feasible, a commercial ranch. Like most other bison ranches, the number of animals in their herd is largely determined by the amount of pasture they own. They want to strike a balance between animal numbers and available natural resources to keep the animals and the land healthy.
