Brackers get excited every year when they give a Brent Model C Wheel to a local school, university, arts center, or other learning center in honor of Bill Bracker. From the Lawrence Arts Center, their local center for creative expression, to the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, they review all open proposals annually, usually around Thanksgiving. The award is given out on or very close to December 1, which is Bill's birthday. The submission form is open all year. Brackers is proud to support a number of arts centers and organizations that are putting in a lot of effort to provide Ceramic Artists with opportunities. For workshops, residencies, empty bowls projects, K-12 education, new ceramic technology, and arts advocacy, Bracker's provides both financial and in-kind donations. Their employees frequently volunteer their time and talents for these organizations, which provide educational experiences and creative outlets.
