About Bluestocking Press
Bluestocking Press was founded in 1988 and named by Mrs. Elizabeth Montague's over-righteous association. Around 1750, Mrs. Montague began holding meetings to encourage women to participate in literary discussions and dialogues instead of social dialogues and activities. Mrs. Montague's society wears blue stockings as a means of identifying members. The goal of Bluestocking Press is to publish books for students in disciplines that are generally considered to be beyond them or better reserved for experts, which will encourage intelligent discussion and rational dialogue, and provide students with safer and more successful knowledge, career and financial life that will help each of them manage his or her own personal knowledge. Jane Williams, the founder of the store, believes that if these subjects can be explained clearly, young students will be able to acquire knowledge in business, economics, finance and history faster than traditional methods.
