On August 26, 1952, Jim Dunn made his Major League Baseball debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and more than 200 former Mustangs players have since followed Dunn's example to the majors. There are 29 different Billings Mustangs teams represented on the list, even though the bulk of players who made it to the Major Leagues did so with the National League Cincinnati Reds, the Mustangs' Billings Mustangs affiliate from 1974 through 2019. All players listed wore the team's uniform for at least one game, even if they did not actually participate in the match. Before donning a Mustangs uniform, Charlie Root (1948), Frank Jelincich (1948), Cliff Dapper (1952), and Andrew McKirahan (2017) all played Major League Baseball.
