At BENSLEY an overlooked 19th century slope station is brought back to life as a 23 room resort which tells the story of a bygone time. Once the domain – a French colonial respectful hireling and negotiator, who invited companions from distant and wide – the disintegrating domain was changed into the primary extravagance estate and tent resort inside the UNESCO World Legacy Location of Luang Prabang. All redesigns were done beneath strict UNESCO rules, uncovering the ancient Lao estates centred on a normal waterfall and its wandering streams – as a confirmation to Pavie's 1900s Laotian life. BENSLEY bequest incorporates La Grande Maison, a house where he engaged his companions and guests and the Elephant bridge, a bar which floats over the waterway where elephants once crossed, among other spaces.
