About Atma Classique
Atma Classique CD Symphony of the ice storm transports the listener into the musical maelstrom by Quebec composer Maxime Goulet to mark the 25th anniversary of one of the worst natural disasters in Quebec history and to recognize the fortitude and humanity that sprang from it. Three of his compositions are performed by the Orchester Classique de Montréal under the baton of Jacques Lacombe: History of Fishing, A Full Day, and the self-titled Ice Storm Symphony. Atma Classique Ice Storm Symphony allows listeners to reflect on key moments from the January 4, 1998 ice storm by evoking various facets of the event. Additionally, it aims to increase public awareness of the value of their ecosystem by emphasizing its vulnerability.
