Arnies Restaurant began in 1979 when Peter and Robert Peterson, graduates of hotel and restaurant management at Washington State University, had the idea for a restaurant in the Pacific Northwest. The first Arnies Restaurant in Mukilteo opened in 1979. During this period, restaurant trends were heavily skewed toward steak and seafood restaurants. The Mukilteo was an immediate success, with a comfortable atmosphere, views of the Whidbey Island ferry and Puget Sound, delicious food and friendly service! Their brand statement back then was "You know what it might look like," but today it is "to provide true service and create Pacific Northwest love and pride. "Mukilteo's success led it to open in Edmonds in 1981. Ferry located on the pier overlooking the Olympic Peninsula. Edmonds is slightly larger than Mukilteo and is also a mid-priced steak and seafood menu.
