The Alta Crystal Resort operates in Mount Baker / Snoqualmie National Forest under a special license. They are located outside the northeast entrance of Mount Rainier National Park, 7.5 miles below Crystal Mountain Ski Resort (about 10-15 minutes drive). Alta Crystal Resort are open all year round and can be visited all year round from Enumclaw. Both Cayuse Pass (Route 123) and Chinook Pass (Route 410, Eastern Washington) will now open in the summer of 2017. If you are from eastern or southern Washington, please use the summer route. These two channels are usually open until the first heavy snowfall, usually from early November to mid-November. Enumclaw (all year): From the intersection of Highway 164 (Safeway Shopping Center) and Griffin Avenue, walk 32 miles east and you will find them on the left between road signs 55 and 56.
