At Shepperton studios in London, more than 200 workers and technicians built three main sets, including the surface of the planet, the interior of Acme Archives and the wreckage of an alien spacecraft. Set designer les Diley first created 1:24 miniatures of the planet's surface and the wreckage of the ship, based on geiger's drawings. Then he took the molds and scaled them up. The three decks of it are located in three studios, and the different rooms are connected by corridors through which the actors must travel in order to switch sets.
